Bryson DeChambeau’s 77-yard walk-off hole-out for birdie concluded another wild day at the Masters. And no one was more surprised than tournament leader Scottie Scheffler.
Masters 2024: Jason Day confirms Augusta asked him to remove controversial vest
Moments after Scheffler’s own impressive birdie on No.18 to move in front through 54 holes at Augusta National, the World No.1 was getting set to do a post-round interview with CBS Sports’ Amanda Balionis. That’s when cameras caught the two watching a live feed of the tournament—leading to this priceless reaction from Scheffler:

We feel ya, Scottie. That was pretty crazy. Especially because if DeChambeau’s golf ball hadn’t dropped in the cup, it probably would have kept rolling past the hole. Just ask Tyrrell Hatton, who four-putted from a similar spot on Saturday.

Anyway, what’s not pretty crazy is that Scheffler, the 2022 Masters champ, is in the lead at a golf tournament. Again. And that he’s leading at Augusta National. Again. In other words, Bryson – or someone else – is going to probably need to pull off a few more similar highlights on Sunday to beat him.
